Where quantum technologies meet power & energy system needs.

Electrical power systems are among the most complex engineered systems ever created, and a prerequisite for a functional and prosperous society. Transitioning to affordable and sustainable energy places stringent demands on the sensing, cybersecurity, and computational capabilities that underpin their operation. Quantum technologies can play a transformative role in power engineering. Quantum4EnergyNL is the Dutch community exploring this frontier.

An initiative from across the four Dutch technical universities
Supported by 4TU.NIRICT and 4TU.Energy
Our mission

Building a national community for quantum technologies in power and energy.

The Quantum4EnergyNL mission is to prepare the Netherlands to harness quantum technologies for its power and energy systems, at a moment when the energy transition and geopolitical pressures are straining energy infrastructure and quantum is moving to the centre of European and Dutch technology strategy. We connect researchers across the 4TU and beyond with industry to build a shared research agenda and put the Netherlands at the forefront of this emerging field.
